1000Built 1968Built as a DT&I GP40 #405, became GTW 6405 around 1984, went to NICTD sometime in 1994 after being rebuilt into a GP38-2 geared for high speed, received a pantograph in 2019 as an ice breaker, received the new NICTD MoW livery with reverted gearing changes in 2020.
1001Built 1970Built as an IC GP38AC #9503, repainted/renumbered in 1975 as 1776 as a replacement bicentennial unit, went to MKT as 328, then became UP 1985, and became a parts donor at NREX around 2005. Circa 2015, rebuilt into an NREX GP38-3, became NICTD 1001 in 2019, wearing an early version of their current MoW livery, and in 2020 the livery was updated to the current one.
